AVERAGE ANNUAL EARNINGS OVER THE LIFE OF WORKERS
“In the Retirement Income Review released recently, some interesting figures were disclosed regarding average annual earnings over the life of workers. The report states that the average annual income for lower income earners was $48,000 (take note this is the average over a lifetime of working).
The average annual income for the higher income earners is $144,000. The report further states that the lower income earners are typically hospitality workers and carers in aged or disability sectors, whereas the high-income earners work as dentists, lawyers and finance managers.
If you use a ‘gender focus’ for a moment, which gender is more typically in the lower end roles and which gender is typically in the higher end roles? I leave it to you to ponder.”
